I handcrafted my first nativity scene as a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law a few years ago. Many people have asked me about it, so I have updated and improved upon the original design and built a limited run to offer for purchase.
The figures are all cut by hand from Honduran mahogany.
The stable features black walnut pillars that I turned on my lathe.
The stable's pillars are connected by white oak dowels.
The stable's roof is a solid piece of strikingly figured white limba.
A star made of multiple contrasting wood species laminated together, is affixed to a white oak mast; the star and mast are removable (the mast fits into a hole in the stable's roof) for storage or if you prefer the look of the nativity scene without the star and mast.
The nativity scene is mounted to a solid purpleheart base, with top and bottom edges profiled all the way around, that rests upon four spherical purpleheart feet, one in each corner.
The Ohio Wood Art logo and maker's mark are laser-engraved on the bottom of the nativity scene's base.
The nativity scene has been finished with durable and environmentally-friendly Rubio Monocoat hardwax oil.
I have no plans to create any more nativity scenes using this design (it is very labor-intensive), so this is your opportunity if you wish to own one. 
All Ohio Wood Art nativity scenes available for purchase are constructed from the same wood species, use the same design, and are approximately the same dimensions and weight; however, due to natural variations in wood's coloration and figure, the Ohio Wood Art nativity scene that you receive may not be the one pictured above.
